Logo Competition a Win-Win for Local Designers and Fair Trade Calgary
Buying fair trade helps Calgarians make every dollar count.
Calgary, AB--Fair Trade Calgary is looking for creative minds to help tell the evolving story of their non-for-profit organization. We need a logo! We are calling to new and experienced artists and designers to submit a logo that will help strengthen our identity and impact the community as we flip the page to a new and exciting chapter that launches our campaign to make Calgary a Fair Trade Town in 2016! If you are the winner, not only will you receive recognition for your work and $250 in cash, you will help shape our organization for years to come!
The competition, which closes January 31, 2016 at 4 p.m. MST is open to anyone with a passion for design. We have put together a comprehensive design specification that you can review on Fair Trade Calgary’s website at www.fairtradecalgary.com .
Prizes have been generously sponsored by DIALOG and will be given to both the winner and the runner-up. The winning logo will be used for our campaign promotional materials, as well as our website, social media, and all communications. The best logo entries will be chosen by the public and officially announced at our launch event in March 2016.
Calgary Aiming to Become Canada’s next Fair Trade Town
With your help, and the support of local consumers, businesses, and community groups, Calgary will have the proud distinction of being Canada’s next Fair Trade Town! Officially the campaign is called Fair Trade Calgary +, the “+” represents inclusion of local and direct-trade products that meet fair trade principles, but may not carry the Fairtrade mark. More details about the campaign can be found on Fair Trade Calgary’s website at www.fairtradecalgary.com , Facebook, and Twitter.
We would be pleased to have you join us as we work together to make a global impact through local ethical purchasing choices.
About Fair Trade Calgary
Fair Trade Calgary is a local non-for-profit group under Engineers Without Borders, Calgary. Our mandate is to encourage and promote the availability and purchase of Fair Trade products in Calgary. Fair trade empowers marginalized producers to improve their living conditions. With the proper resources, capacity, and access to key relationships, disadvantaged producers can earn their own means to a better life for themselves and their communities. Fair trade principles include a fair price paid for the product, ethical working conditions, environmental sustainability, long-term business relationships with producers, and a portion of fair trade premiums going to support community initiatives.
