Logo to be developed for Fair Trade Calgary
We are launching a 2016 campaign to make Calgary a Fair Trade Town in January, so would like the logo to be in place by February 2016.

The winner of the logo competition will be awarded a cash prize of $250. The logo will also be credited to the designer in social media and on our website (which is currently under development). The winner will also be recognized publicly at our 2016 Campaign launch event. There will also be a cash prize of $100 for the Runner-up and recognition for the runner up.

The design of the logo and the tagline must be authentic and original, in full compliance with intellectual property rights. All submissions will become the property of Engineers Without Borders Calgary and Fair Trade Calgary.

Some specific requirements that we would like for the logo are:

- Submit in two formats: one in color and one in black & white without losing effect
- Include a tagline (max. 5 words), as an ‘optional’ component of the logo
- Easily sizeable to letterhead, business cards, as well as to larger posters and banners, and to promotional items (such as shirts, bags, etc)
- Represent Calgary in a recognizable way
- Represent Fair Trade in a recognizable way
- Reflect the “Fair Trade+” concept, as a Calgary-specific differentiator
- Professional , inclusive, creative and simple look
- Briefly describe the rationale for the suggested logo and tagline (max. 1 page)
- Provide a brief biography (1 paragraph) about why you chose to submit for the competition
